What types of wastewater treatment systems do you supply?
We supply a range of wastewater treatment systems. To ensure you get the right system, our team of wastewater treatment experts will assess the size of your property, its location and proximity to waterways to design a suitable cost-effective and environmentally friendly solution which exceeds all environmental and building controls.
Traditional septic tanks are the simplest and most cost-effective method of treating waste. There is no need to install a pump which helps to reduce installation costs and keeps running costs down by eliminating the need for regular maintenance.
Standalone septic tanks produce poor-quality liquid waste, however, which means councils will only approve them for remote or rural properties. If you live in a residential neighbourhood you will require a more comprehensive waste management system.
Wastewater treatment systems
Wastewater treatment systems produce a much higher quality effluent which can be used to irrigate gardens and lawns. The system consists of a conventional septic tank, accompanied by a second treatment tank which aerates, clarifies and disinfects the wastewater.
The downside of this solution is that they typically cost more to install than conventional septic tanks and require regular quarterly maintenance.
Septic tanks with sand filters
Another solution is to fit a sand filter to a standard septic tank. This filters the waste to create a high-quality effluent suitable for lawn and garden irrigation. They are typically more expensive than a standard septic tank but less expensive than a full wastewater treatment system.
Such systems also typically only require maintenance once a year which helps to keep running costs down. Running costs can be reduced further, however, by installing a gravity-fed filter which won’t require any maintenance at all. Contact us to find out which solution is suitable for your property.
