The training hub upgrade, at the popular Belmont reserve, includes putting in four new synthetic hard wickets and five natural turf wickets. The asset redevelopment for the City of Greater Geelong also involves demolition of the existing cricket netting structure.
South Barwon Cricket Club, which has just notched up 70 years of community sport, is a hive of activity during cricket season. Cricket is hugely popular in Geelong. During the cricket season, you’ll see cricketers in action on game day or at training on grounds across the region. Their shouts, calls of encouragement and applause are part of summer’s music in the suburbs and further afield.
